Founded in June 2013 by Brendan O'Driscoll (CEO), Aidan Sliney (CTO) and Craig Watson (CIO), Soundwave aims to connect music lovers worldwide to discover, share, discuss and track their music consumption across Android and iOS devices. After a successful launch of the free Music Discovery app - Soundwave has received great feedback and engagement worldwide. As of March 1st 2014 Soundwave has been downloaded in over 190 countries worldwide with close to 1 million downloads.
The Soundwave app allows users to connect, to discuss, to share and discover music both old and new. Users can discover what people are listening to in their local area or in any location worldwide - by simple drawing on the unique music map. The Soundwave music map is an innovative feature that allows a user to pick a destination and see in real-time the music that is being consumed in that area by other Soundwave users. Music matters to Soundwave users and so the app also acts as a user's personal music library - by seamlessly tracking what you are listening to on YouTube, native phone player, Spotify, Rdio, Pandora, 8tracks, Deezer and many more players.
